meet the doctor

Dr. Robert A. Vickers

My chiropractic story started when I was about eighteen months old. My father was a chiropractic student at the birthplace of chiropractic, Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa. He took me to a small off-campus clinic operated by one of his instructors, Dr. Virgil Strang. Dr. Strang later went on to become president of Palmer College. I received my first chiropractic adjustment that day in 1965.

As a chiropractic kid I grew up believing that health was a natural state of existence. It wasn’t until later that I realized the kinds of health problems people were having because they didn’t get chiropractic care. I was surprised to realize how often my classmates were sick and on medications.

As the son of a chiropractor I grew up watching my dad help people who were hurting. I saw people carried into the office who later walked out. Many times patients would call after office hours and dad would treat them in our home.

I consider myself fortunate to have been raised in an environment where health was not considered a matter of luck. My family understands why people get sick and we know what to do prevent it.

When you visit our office you will meet my wife, Jessica. She manages the insurance department and coordinates all of the patient information. She is the first smiling face you see when you walk through our door. We share three great kids (Sarah, Emily and Davis) who are growing up knowing that health is a natural state of existence.

It is my sincere honor to care for the members of our community. I feel privileged to be trusted with something as important as your health. Our staff is always happy to answer any of your questions and help in any way we can. Thank you for choosing chiropractic care for yourselves and your families. You’ve made the right choice!
